André Depienne, born in Differdange on June 29, 1957
This versatile artist is the creator of numerous collages, paintings, sculptures, and decorations, primarily in the musical field.
His idea
To create a series of portraits on canvas (1 m x 1.5 m) of famous artists from the world of music who sadly left us too soon.His initial project, consisting of 14 paintings, dates back to 2007. It has now grown to 80 artist portraits, and the project is far from complete.

Idols aren't made, they are born, and with their death, they become immortal. Modern music literature is brimming with them, the legendary heroes of our time.
80 of them have now found their way onto André Depienne's canvas. With his refreshing brushwork, he created colorful portraits of very diverse artists, whose life stories I was privileged to tell in short biographies. In my many years as a music editor, this was one of the most rewarding tasks.
