Marc Bolan was the head of the glam rock- band “T. Rex”, which used to be present in the international charts in the early seventies, and made Bolan a superstar.

Marc is the uncrowned king of the glam rock era. His musical roots however started with Folk. His stage name is a correlation of the first two and the last three letters of his big idol, Bob Dylan, BO-LAN. After a few years he had a comeback in 1977 with his album “Dan- dy in the Underworld”, but unfortunately he died prior to the release. Marc Bolan died in a car crash with his Mini-Cooper on September 16th, 1977. His girlfriend at the time, Gloria Jones, drove the car since Marc didn’t have his drivers’ license. In 1991 the T.Rex hit “20th Century Boy” reentered the charts due to a commercial ad on TV for a big Jeans brand featuring Brad Pitt. T.Rex member Mickey Finn once said in an interview: “If Marc would know that his music got used for a jeans com- mercial, he would turn in his own grave. He hated jeans and he never wore any.
