John Bonham
John “Bonzo” Bonham was the legendary drummer of the also legendary group “Led Zeppelin”. A “Rolling Stone” magazine sur- vey named him the best drummer of all times. He started practicing in his youth. He did his first big steps into business in 1967, when Ro- bert Plant asked him to join the group “Band of Joy”. In 1968 he was hired in the band of the American singer “Tim Rose”, after being part of the warm-up on his tour. The same year, Jimmy Page asked him to join his band “New Yardbirds” which had already a big success as “Yardbirds”. He followed the re- quest and a later on they changed their name into “Led Zeppelin”. John Bonham was the first drummer who added a big brass plate to his bassdrum to get more power out of it. His life ended tragically during the night from September 24 to 25, 1980 as he choked in his own vomit. According to crewmembers, John drank 40 Vodka and a few bottles of beer on that particular night. John Bonham’s son is a popular drummer too. “Jason Bonham” par- ticipated with popular groups and interprets like UFO, Jimmy Page, Foreigner, Led Zeppe- lin, Black Country Communion and of course Jason Bonham Band.
