July 23rd, 2011 was again a black day in music history, as the dead body of Amy Winehouse was found in her apartment in London. She was victim of her drug and alcohol abuse. She was buried at the “Edgwarebury Jewish Cemetery in London on July 26th, only with the attendance of close friends and family members. Due to her lifestyle, rumors were going on that she might join the “Club 27”. The “Club 27” includes musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain, who all died aged 27. During her short career she released only two studio-al- bums, “Frank” in 2000 and 3 years later her masterpiece “Back to Black”, including the single hits “Rehab”, “You know I’m not good” and “Back to Black”. This CD was sold 7 mil- lion times in Europe, and in the States 2 mil- lion times. On December 2nd, 2011 the album “Lioness: Hidden Treasures” was released posthumously, and became a worldwide suc- cess. It was number 1 in many countries such as Austria, The Netherlands, Greece, Portugal, South-Korea, Switzerland and Great Britain. During her 8 years of career Amy Winehouse sold 25 million records and was rewarded with 2 Grammies.
